Town of Holyrood Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Holyrood Order.

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Holyrood are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 886/78 and 24/83 are repealed.


 

Schedule

Beginning at a coastal point due west of Indian Pond and running due east to the western end of the pond;

Then south along the western shoreline of Indian Pond to and then along the western bank of Quarry Brook to a point having MTM co‑ordinates north 5 252 147 metres and east 298 420 metres, point being south 12° 00' east 5,050 metres, more or less, from the point of beginning;

Then south 33° 00' west 1,190 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then south 22° 00' east 3,000 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then due east 810 metres, more or less, to a point on the western bank of Seal Cove River;

Then running generally southward along the western bank of Seal Cove River to and along the western shoreline of Finnies Pond, Five Mile Pond East and Five Mile Pond West and the brooks thereof to the northern sideline of a power transmission line;

Then running westward along the power line 2,400 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then running south 17° west a distance of 4,440 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then running south 48° west a distance of 1,900 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the western end of an unnamed pond;

Then running south 85° west a distance of 3,830 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then running south 37° west a distance of 790 metres, more or less, to the southern end of Old Sea Pond;

Then following the western shoreline of Old Sea Pond in a generally northerly direction a distance of 1,250 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then running due west a distance of 2,000 metres, more or less, to the southern end of Conn's Pond;

Then running north 62° west a distance of 300 metres, more or less, to the northern end of an unnamed pond;

Then running north 7° west a distance of 1,480 metres, more or less, to the western edge of an unnamed pond;

Then running north 19° east a distance of 5,130 metres, more or less, to the northern edge of Peak Pond;

Then following the eastern sideline of the Salmonier Line in a northerly direction and then following the northern sideline of the Trans Canada Highway in a westerly direction to a point 280 metres, more or less, due south of the southern end of Harbour Main Pond;

Then due north a distance of 280 metres, more or less, to the southern end of Harbour Main Pond;

Then following the eastern shoreline of Harbour Main Pond in a northerly direction to the eastern bank of Maloney's River;

Then following the eastern bank of Maloney's River in a generally northerly direction to the centre line of the Canadian National Railway right‑of‑way;

Then following the centre line of the right‑of‑way in an easterly direction a distance of 290 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then running north 59° east a distance of 1,750 metres, more or less, to a point on the southern sideline of the Conception Bay Highway;

Then along a bearing of alignment with a point situate approximately 350 metres northwestward via Conception Bay Highway from the Ridge Road intersection running due north a distance of 30 metres to the northern sideline of the Conception Bay Highway, that point being at co‑ordinates north 5 252 346.5 metres and east 293 392.5 metres;

Then running north 23° east a distance of 1,010 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then running south 76° east a distance of 350 metres, more or less, to a point at the intersection of the eastern sideline of Ridge Road and the northern sideline of Williams Road;

Then along a line parallel to and 10 metres northward from the centre line of Williams Road to a point bearing north 60° east a distance of 80 metres, more or less, from the last given point;

Then along a line parallel to and 70 metres eastward from the centre line of Ridge Road to a point bearing north 14° east a distance of 120 metres, more or less, from the last given point;

Then running north 46° east a distance of 1,070 metres, more or less, to the summit of Blow Me Down Bluff;

Then running due east a distance of 110 metres, more or less, to the coastal tip of Blow Me Down Bluff;

Then following the coastline of Holyrood Bay to the point of beginning, nevertheless, excluding therefrom the Trans Canada Highway.

All bearings refer to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500 and 1:5000 Newfoundland and Labrador Forest Resources and Lands Mapping, 1982 editions.
