Town of Labrador City Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96‑170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Labrador City Order.

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Labrador City are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulation 706/78 is repealed.


Schedule

All that piece or parcel of land situated and being at Little Wabush Lake abutted and bounded as follows, that is to say, commencing at a point in the northeast boundary line of the within described piece or parcel of land, that point being distant 241.55 metres measured on a course of south 3° 59' east from a concrete monument known as South Pin being the southern extremity of a baseline measured by the Iron Ore Company of Canada;

Then running north 38° 8' west a distance of 1,402.07 metres to a point designated as Post No. 3 of Block No. 22‑6;

Then turning and running west crossing the waters of Beverley Lake a distance of 613.14 metres to a point designated as Post No. 4 of Block No. 22‑6;

Then south 53° 22' west a distance of 1,353.92 metres to a point designated as Post No. 5 of Block No. 22‑6;

Then west 219.46 metres to a point designated as Post No. 6 of Block No. 22‑6 and being Station No. 12 of the townsite traverse;

Then turning and running south 2° 45' east crossing the waters of Tanta and Quartzite Lakes a distance of 965.72 metres to a point designated as Station No. 13;

Then running south 81° 38' west a distance of 822.96 metres to a point designated as Station 13B;

Then running south 65° 4' west a distance of 910.89 metres to a point designated as Station 13A;

Then running in a southwesterly direction along the sinuosities of the eastern shoreline of Canning Lake at highwater mark;

Then running in a southeasterly direction along the sinuosities of the north shoreline of the river flowing from Canning Lake to Harrie Lake at highwater mark;

Then running in a northeasterly direction along the sinuosities of the north shoreline of Harrie Lake at highwater mark having a total shoreline distance of 4,572 metres to a point designated as Station 14A on the north shoreline of Harrie Lake;

Then running by and along the sinuosities of the north shoreline of Harrie Lake at highwater in a generally southeasterly direction to a point designated as Station No. 24 on the north shoreline of Little Wabush Lake;

Then along the centre line of Little Wabush Lake to a point in the south shore of the Narrows separating Little Wabush Lake and Wabush Lake and designated as Post No. 1 of Block 22‑10;

Then turning and running north 1° 55' east a distance of 508.74 metres crossing the Narrows to a point designated as Post No. 2;

Then west 133.96 metres to a point designated as Post No. 3 and then north 38° 8' west a distance of 274.32 metres, more or less, to the point of commencement.

All bearings being referred to the astronomical meridian.
