Community of Parson's Pond Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96‑170)

Under the authority of section 257 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Schedule


Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Community of Parson's Pond Order.

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Community of Parson's Pond are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 110/78 and 771/78 are repealed.


Schedule

Beginning at the northern junction of an old section of Highway 73 through the Community of Three Mile Rock with the realignment of Highway 430;

Then running due west to the Gulf of St. Lawrence coastline;

Then following the gulf coastline in a generally northeasterly direction by way of Sandy Bay to a position west of the summit of a section of Highway 430, locally known as Three Mile Hill;

Then running due east to the summit of Three Mile Hill at a highway border point, that point being 4,500 metres via Highway 430 from the northern abutment of Parsons Pond Bridge;

Then proceeding due east 1,700 metres, more or less, to a point on a tributary to Parsons Pond River;

Then running due south 4,950 metres, more or less, to the centre point of a cart track bridge over a tributary to Parsons Pond;

Then running due west, crossing the outlet to Parsons Pond River, locally known as The Narrows, to the west bank of Parsons Pond and then along the west bank to the tip of an eastward protuberance, that tip bearing south 28° 30' west 1,600 metres, more or less, from the cart track bridge;

Then running due west 3,300 metres, more or less, to the point of commencement.

All bearings being referred to the true meridian and along with distances given are subject to approximation as taken from the 1:50,000 National Topographic Map, 1972 edition.
