CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND REGULATION 387/96

Community of Renews Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 257 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Schedule


Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Community of Renews Order.

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Community of Renews are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulation 797/78 is repealed.


Schedule

Beginning at the point of highest elevation on Butterpot Hill, that point being a geodetic control point and then running south 16,600 metres, more or less;

Then running east 8,075 metres, more or less, to a point in the eastern shoreline of the Avalon Peninsula at Black Head;

Then running in a generally northerly direction along the sinuosities of the eastern shoreline via Seal Cove and Cappahayden to a point in the shoreline at Renews Head at the southern entrance to Renews Harbour;

Then running in a generally northwesterly and southeasterly direction along the shorelines of Renews Harbour to a point in Northern Head at the northern entrance to Renews Harbour;

Then running in a generally northeasterly direction along the sinuosities of the eastern shoreline of the Avalon Peninsula to a point known locally as South Point;

Then running north 65° degrees west 4,425 metres, more or less, to a point in the centre line of the main southern shore highroad;

Then running north 78° west 7,175 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning.

All bearings being referred to the true meridian.
