Community of River of Ponds Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 257 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Schedule


Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Community of River of Ponds Order.

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Community of River of Ponds are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulation 800/78 is repealed.


Schedule

Beginning at a point, that point being on the centre line of Route 73, north of the community, where the road crosses the stream flowing from Little Brook Pond to Bad Bay;

Then following the sinuosities of the shoreline of Little Brook Pond in a generally southerly direction to a point, that point being on the shoreline and a distance of 300 metres, more or less, north of Route 73;

Then running parallel to and a distance of 300 metres from that road to a point on the centre line of Route 73 west, that point being 425 metres, more or less, north of the intersection on Route 73;

Then south 6° 30' east a distance of 2,450 metres, more or less, to a point on the northwestern shoreline of River of Ponds Lake;

Then north 76° 30' west a distance of 3,175 metres, more or less, to a point on the shoreline of the Gulf of St. Lawrence where an unnamed stream flows into the Gulf;

Then following the sinuosities of the shoreline in a generally northerly direction around Bad Bay to the point where the stream flows from Little Brook Pond into that bay;

Then following the southern bank of that stream to the point of commencement.

All bearings being referred to grid north.
