Jurors List Boundaries Variation Order

Jury Act, 1991

Under the authority of section 11 of the Jury Act, 1991 and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Jurors List Boundaries Variation Order.

Jury list for St. John's

        2. For the purpose of compiling a jury list for the judicial centre of St. John's under section 11 of the Jury Act, 1991, the geographic radius outlined in subsection 11(1) of the Act shall not apply.

Boundaries described

        3. The jury list for trials to be held in the Trial Division sitting at the judicial centre of St. John's shall be drawn so as to include all those eligible persons who reside within the boundaries of the following areas only:

             (a)  the City of St. John's as described in the City of St. John's Boundary Order; and

             (b)  the City of Mount Pearl as described in Schedule A of the City of Mount Pearl Act.

Repeal

        4. The Jurors List Boundaries Variation Order, 1989, Newfoundland Regulation 201/89, is repealed.
