CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND REGULATION 824/96

Burin Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96‑173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council defines the following area as the Burin Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at a point at highwater mark at Whitepatch;

Then in a generally southerly direction following the western coastline of Burin Passage and in a generally northerly direction following the eastern coastline of Burin Inlet to a point at highwater mark and being on a common boundary with Lewin's Cove;

Then on a common boundary with Lewin's Cove north 31° west a distance of 1,150 metres to the height of land;

Then on a common boundary with Lewin's Cove north 50° west a distance of 1,500 metres, more or less, to the northeastern limit of Freshwater Pond Provincial Park;

Then on a common boundary with the provincial park westward a distance of 580 metres, more or less, to the eastern shoreline of Freshwater Pond;

Then in a generally westerly direction following the northern shoreline of that pond to a point on its western shoreline approximately 1,200 metres from the western mouth of Tides Brook;

Then running west a distance of 6,500 metres, more or less, to a point on a common boundary with Winterland;

Then on a common boundary with Winterland north 74° east a distance of 6,700 metres, more or less;

Then on a common boundary with Winterland and running north 52° east a distance of 4,200 metres, more or less, to a point on a common boundary with Marystown;

Then in a generally southeasterly direction on a common boundary with Marystown to a point on the southern extremity of Southwest Arm;

Then on a common boundary with Marystown north 88° east a distance of 3,850 metres, more or less;

Then on a common boundary with Marystown north 57° 30' east a distance of 3,250 metres, more or less, to a point on the southwestern extremity of an unnamed pond;

Then following a common boundary with Fox Cove‑Mortier south 3° 30' west a distance of 3,800 metres, more or less;

Then following a common boundary with Fox Cove‑Mortier south 2° east a distance of 2,000 metres, more or less;

Then following a common boundary with Fox Cove‑Mortier south 32° 30' east a distance of 550 metres, more or less;

Then following a common boundary with Port au Bras south 41° west a distance of 2,450 metres, more or less;

Then following a common boundary with Port au Bras and running south 43° east a distance of 800 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning, and including therein all offshore islands west of and including Pardy Island, Burin Island, Cat Island, and all offshore islands east of and including Sugarloaf Island.

All bearings being referred to the grid meridian.
