CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND REGULATION 927/96

St. John's Urban Region, Regional Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96‑173)

Under the authority of section 51 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council defines the following area as the St. John's Urban Region, Regional Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at North Head at the northern entrance of St. John's Harbour;

Then in a generally northerly direction following the shoreline of North East Avalon Peninsula to Cape St. Francis;

Then in a generally southerly direction following the shoreline of the North East Avalon Peninsula to head of South Arm in Holyrood Bay;

Then following the shoreline of Holyrood Bay to Blow Me Down Bluff;

Then following the boundary of the Town of Holyrood inclusive to a point and from that point turning south 84° 30' east 3,900 metres, more or less, to the north end of Big Island Pond;

Then in a generally easterly direction following the northern shoreline of Big Island Pond, Daltons Pond and the stream connecting these ponds with Mobile Big Pond;

Then in a generally easterly direction following the north shore of Mobile Big Pond, Mobile River and Mobile First Pond;

Then in a generally easterly direction along the northern bank of Mobile River to a railway trail;

Then in a northeasterly direction along the railway trail to a power transmission line;

Then in a northerly direction along the power line to the southern bank of Gallows Cove River;

Then in an easterly direction along the southern bank of that river to the Southern Shore Highway;

Then south 50° 00' east a distance of 3,790 metres, more or less, to the easternmost extremity of Witless Point situated on the headlands between Witless Bay and Mobile Bay;

Then in a generally northerly direction following the eastern shoreline of the North East Avalon Peninsula to the point of beginning, together with the whole of Bell Island, and all adjacent offshore islands.

All bearings being referred to the true meridian.
