Attachment of Wages Exemption Order
under the
Attachment of Wages Act

Under the authority of subsection 3(2) of the Attachment of Wages Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Attachment of Wages Exemption Order.

Amount exempt

        2. The net monthly amount exempt from attachment or execution under subsection 3(2) of the Act shall be

             (a)  in the case of a married person supporting a spouse, the sum of $1,019;

             (b)  in the case of a married person supporting a spouse and one dependent, the sum of $1,059;

             (c)  in the case of a married person supporting a spouse and more than one dependent, the sum of $1,059 plus $47 for each dependent in excess of one;

             (d)  in the case of a person supporting one or more dependents, the sum of $963 plus $47 for each dependent in excess of one;

             (e)  in the case of another person, the sum of $649.

Repeal

        3. The Attachment of Wages Exemption Order, 1992, Newfoundland Regulation 133/92, is repealed.
