Consolidated Young Offenders Act (Canada) Order
under the
Young Offenders Act (
Canada)
and
Young Persons Offences Act
(O.C. 96‑187)

Under the authority of the Young Offenders Act (Canada), the Young Persons Offences Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

ORDER

Under the authority of subsection 24.1(1) and section 7 of the Young Offenders Act (Canada) and subsection 16(2) of the Young Persons Offences Act, the Newfoundland and Labrador Youth Centre at Whitbourne is designated as a secure custody facility and a place of temporary detention within the meaning of the Young Offenders Act (Canada) and as a facility of custody and a place of temporary detention within the meaning of the Young Persons Offences Act.

Under section 2.1 of the Young Offenders Act (Canada) and paragraph 2(d) of the Young Persons Offences Act, the Administrator of the Community Corrections Services and the Administrator of the Newfoundland and Labrador Youth Centre are Provincial Directors for the purposes of administrating those Acts.

Under the authority of subsection 7(1) of the Young Offenders Act (Canada) and section 16 of the Young Persons Offences Act, the Whitbourne Youth Centre is designated as a place of temporary detention within the meaning of the Young Offenders Act (Canada).

Under the authority of the Young Offenders Act (Canada) and the Young Persons Offences Act, the Director of Youth Corrections is designated as the Provincial Director for the purposes of those Acts.

Under the authority of section 2 of the Young Offenders Act (Canada) and the Young Persons Offences Act, the Whitbourne Training School is designated as a secure custody facility for the purposes of those Acts.

115/85

Under the authority of the Young Offenders Act (Canada) and the Young Persons Offences Act, foster homes in the province are designated as open custody facilities for the purposes of those Acts.

Order designating foster homes as "open custody facilities", Newfoundland Regulation 67/85.
