CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND REGULATION 1055/96

Jack's Pond Provincial Park Proclamation
under the
Provincial Parks Act
(O.C. 96-189)

Under the authority of section 4 of the Provincial Parks Act-the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council proclaims the area described in the Schedule to be a provincial park.

                   The Jack's Pond Provincial Park Proclamation, Newfoundland Regulation 175/85, is repealed.


Schedule

All that piece or parcel of land situate and being near Arnold's Cove in the province, abutted and bounded as follows, that is to say:

Beginning at a point, that point being Control Survey Monument No. 73104 and having co‑ordinates of north 5,291,981.99 metres and east 232,434.42 metres;

Then running by Crown land north 36° 54' 50" east 299.96 metres, more or less;

Then running along the centre line of the Cabot Highway (now abandoned) north 45° west 2 metres, more or less;

Then running along the northwesterly limit of the reservation, 10 metres wide, extending along the northwesterly bank of a stream to a point being distant 411.29 metres, more or less, as measured on a bearing of north 49° 50' 39" east from the last mentioned point;

Then running along the southwesterly limit of the Trans Canada Highway, 60 metres wide, extending between Arnold's Cove and Southern Harbour to a point being distant 3,623.44 metres, more or less, as measured on a bearing of south 29° 02' 27" east from the last mentioned point;

Then running by land described in Commercial Lease No. 19863 issued by the Crown to Alphonsus P. Best now Texaco Canada Limited and by Crown land north 86° 25' 39" west 91.90 metres;

Then running by Crown lands north 62° 23' 11" west 458.40 metres, and then north 83° 11' 43" west 1,701.93 metres, and then north 83° 19' 55" west 73.92 metres, and then north 83° 23' 12" west 131.25 metres, and then north 83° west 30 metres, more or less;

Then running along the shoreline of Great Southern Harbour at ordinary low water to a point being distant 1,914.87 metres, more or less, as measured on a bearing of north 9° 36' 41" west from the last mentioned point;

Then running by Crown lands north 56° east 30 metres, and then north 56° 18' 52" east 557.92 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning and containing an area of 601 hectares, more or less.

All bearings being referred to the meridian of 53° west longitude of the 3° Transverse Mercator Projection.
