Employee Exemption Order
under the
Social Workers Association Act
(O.C. 96‑941)

Under the authority of subsection 3(3) of the Social Workers Association Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Employee Exemption Order.

Definition

        2. In this Order, "Act" means the Social Workers Association Act.

Exemption

        3. All employees of the Government of the Province are exempt from the application of the Act except persons holding the following positions:

             (a)  social worker;

             (b)  district social worker; and

             (c)  supervisor providing direct clinical supervision to individuals holding positions referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b).

Repeal

        4. The Social Workers Association Act Order, Newfoundland Regulation 171/94, is repealed.
