AN ACT TO AMEND THE WASTE MATERIAL DISPOSAL ACT
(Assented to December 23, 1992)

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

1. (1) Section 23 of the Waste Material Disposal Act is amended by renumbering it as subsection (1) and by deleting the amount "$2,000" and substituting the amount "$500,000".

(2) Section 23 of the Act is further amended by adding the following immediately after subsection (1):

(2) The court may, in addition to imposing a fine under subsection (1), order the offender to remove the waste material to a site approved by the court and to restore the land, building or structure to a condition satisfactory to the court.

(3) The offender shall carry out the order of the court within the period of time that is considered reasonable by the court.
