Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

1991 c34

1. Subsection 8(4) of the Fire Prevention Act, 1991 is amended by adding after the words "need not be investigated by a" the words "local or", and by adding after the words "circumstances of the fire" the words "or the fire commissioner considers an investigation is necessary".

2. Section 12 of the Act is amended by adding after the words "The fire commissioner or" the words "local or".

3. Subsection 23(1) of the Act is amended by deleting the words "all volunteer".

4. Subsection 24(1) of the Act is amended by deleting the figure "$1,000" and by substituting the figure "$5,000" and by deleting the figure "12" and by substituting the figure "24".

5. Paragraph 26(1)(p) of the Act is amended by deleting the word "mixed" and substituting the word "fixed".
