AN ACT TO REPEAL THE CRIMINAL INJURIES COMPENSATION ACT

(Assented to December 17, 1993)

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:


Act repealed

1. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Act is repealed.

Right extinguished

2. (1) Where a person who believed that he or she had a right to receive compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act failed to make an application for compensation before March 27, 1992, a right that that person may have had is extinguished.

(2) Subsection (1) is considered to have come into force on March 26, 1992.
