AN ACT TO AMEND THE SOCIAL WORKERS ASSOCIATION ACT

(Assented to December 21, 1995)

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

1. Section 18 of the Social Workers Association Act is repealed and the following substituted:

18. For a period of one year immediately after the commencement of this Act every person who

(a) has been permanently employed as a social worker for at least 2 years immediately before the commencement of this Act; and

(b) has paid the fees required by the association

shall be considered to have met the registration requirements of section 17.

2. Subsection 20(1) of the Act is amended by deleting the words "an employee of the government of the province" and by substituting the words "a person".
