AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC UTILITIES ACT
(Assented to May 12, 2000)

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

1. (1) Subsection 6(1) of the Public Utilities Act is repealed and the following substituted:

Appointment of board of commissioners and staff

6. (1) There is established a corporation to be known as the Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities which shall consist of 3 full-time members and not more than 6 part-time members.

(2) Section 6 of the Act is amended by adding immediately after subsection (11) the following:

(11.1) No action or other proceeding lies against the Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities or a member, officer or employee of the board for anything done in good faith in the course of carrying out its or his or her duties under this Act.
