Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: HEALTH CARE ASSOCIATION ACT 1. Section 8 of the Health Care Association Act is amended by adding immediately after subsection (3) the following: (4) Except where prohibited in the by-laws made under section 9, a director may, where all the directors consent, participate in a meeting of the board by means of the telephone or other telecommunication device that permits all persons participating in the meeting to hear each other. (5) A director who participates in a meeting by the means described in subsection (4) is, for the purpose of this Act, present at and in attendance at that meeting. HOSPITALS ACT 2. Section 15 of the Hospitals Act is amended by adding immediately after subsection (5) the following: (6) Except where prohibited in the by-laws made under section 33, a member of a hospital board or hospital authority may, where all the members consent, participate in a meeting of the board or authority by means of the telephone or other telecommunication device that permits all persons participating in the meeting to hear each other. (7) A member of the board or authority who participates in a meeting by the means described in subsection (6) is, for the purpose of this Act, present at and in attendance at that meeting. LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES ACT 3. Section 4 of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act is amended by adding immediately after subsection (3) the following: (4) Except where prohibited in the regulations made under section 12, a member of the council may, where all the members consent, participate in a meeting of the council by means of the telephone or other telecommunication device that permits all persons participating in the meeting to hear each other. (5) A member of the council who participates in a meeting by the means described in subsection (4) is, for the purpose of this Act, present at and in attendance at that meeting.
