S.12 Amdt. 2. S.15 Amdt. 3. Transitional 4. RSNL1990 cP-43 Amdt. Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: SNL2001 cO-7.1 1. Subsections 12(1) and (2) of the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador Act are repealed and the following substituted: Council established 12. (1) The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador Advisory
Council is established consisting of (a) the following 4 individuals, each of whom is a
member by virtue of his or her office: (i) the
Clerk of the Executive Council, (ii) the
Chancellor of Memorial University of Newfoundland, (iii) the
Chief Justice of Newfoundland and Labrador or, where he or she is unable to
serve on the council for any reason, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of
Newfoundland and Labrador, and (iv) the Speaker of the House of Assembly; (b) 2
individuals who are members of the Order who shall be appointed by the
Lieutenant-Governor in Council, each for a term of 3 years; and (c) not
more than 2 individuals appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, each
for a term of 3 years. (2) The
Clerk of the Executive Council shall be the chairperson of the council. 2. Subsection 15(1) of the Act is repealed and the following substituted: Resignation and termination from Order 15. (1) A member of the Order may resign from the Order by giving written notice of intention to resign, signed by the member, to the Chancellor. Transitional 3. The members of the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador
Advisory Council holding office immediately before the coming into force of
this Act shall continue to hold office until the expiry of their terms. RSNL1990 cP-43 Amdt. 4. Schedule C of the Public Service Commission Act is amended by inserting immediately after the statutory appointment reference "Optometry Act, 2012, subsections 9(1) and 27(4) with respect to ministerial appointments" the statutory appointment reference "Order of Newfoundland and Labrador Act, paragraph 12(1)(c)". ©Queen's Printer |
