Short title

1. This Act may cited as the National Parks Lands Act.

Acquisition of lands for national parks

2. Where lands are required for the establishment by Canada of a national park,

(a) the Minister of Environment and Lands may acquire the lands by purchase; or

(b) the Minister of Works, Services and Transportation may acquire the lands under the Expropriation Act.

Transfer to Government of Canada of lands for national parks

3. The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may, either gratuitously or for the consideration that is considered expedient, transfer to the Government of Canada Crown lands and lands acquired under this Act where those lands are required for the purposes of a national park.
