Victims of Crime Services Information Regulations
under the
Victims of Crime Services Act

Under the authority of section 15 of the Victims of Crime Services Act, I make the following regulations.

Short title

        1. These regulations may be cited as the Victims of Crime Services Information Regulations .

Information about adults

        2. A peace officer shall provide the following information in his or her possession about an adult victim to the Victims of Crime Services Division as soon as possible after obtaining it:

             (a)  the victim's name;

             (b)  the victim's age;

             (c)  the victim's address and telephone number;

             (d)  a brief description of the crime alleged to have been committed against the victim;

             (e)  the charge, if laid; and

              (f)  the victim's relation to the accused.

Information about children

        3. In matters where a charge has been laid, a peace officer shall provide the following information in his or her possession about a child victim to the Victims of Crime Services Division as soon as possible after obtaining it:

             (a)  the victim's name;

             (b)  the victim's age;

             (c)  the victim's parents name or the name of his or her guardian;

             (d)  the address and telephone number of the parent or guardian of the victim;

             (e)  a brief description of the crime alleged to have been committed against the victim and the charge; and

              (f)  the victim's relation to the accused.
