A lifelong resident of Channel-Port aux Basques, Andrew was called to the Newfoundland & Labrador bar in 2005 after articling with Ches Crosbie Barristers and Marks & Parsons Law Firm.

As well as serving clients from throughout the region in his law practice, Andrew has been involved in numerous organizations and groups. He has served on, amongst others, the executive of Port aux Basques Minor Hockey for 6 years (4 as President), as a committee member for Port aux Basques Come Home Year 2005, the Southwest Coast Marine and Mountain Zone Committee, and is currently a board member on the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Care Foundation. A former President of the Port aux Basques & Area Chamber of Commerce, Andrew was also one of the people instrumental in reviving junior hockey in Port aux Basques, with the return of the Junior Mariners in 2009.

Andrew has always had a keen interest in public service, and in volunteerism. At the request of the Town Council of Port aux Basques, Andrew served as the chairperson of the VANOC 2010 Olympic Torch Relay Committee and was the leader of Port aux Basques' bid to become Hockeyville in 2008. His contributions in hockey have been recognized on a regional level, being named to the Top 10 of the Western Star's Top 40 under 40 list for 2010. On a provincial level, Andrew was named Hockey NL's Top Executive in 2008 and was a winner of the Hockey NL Meritorious Service award for 2010.

Andrew and his wife Erin are the proud parents of a son, Michael.
