PROFILE:

Jim Bennett was born and raised in Daniel’s Harbour, where he attended primary and elementary school. He completed junior and high school in Corner Brook, and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University. Jim went on to achieve a Bachelor of Laws degree at University of Winsor, as well as a Juris Doctorate at University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan.

Jim has extensive volunteer service ranging from Council of Student Union at Memorial, school-parents council, development associations and town council.

Elected as Member of the House of Assembly for St. Barbe in 2011, Jim is the Opposition Critic for Fisheries and Aquaculture, as well as Innovation, Business and Rural Development.
