How to Dispute an ATIPP Decision
If access to officially requested records or information under the
Access to Information and Protection
of Privacy Act (ATIPPA) has been refused, a review of the request can be conducted.
The Information and Privacy Commissioner independently reviews any issues arising from ATIPP requests.
Applicants may ask the Information and Privacy Commissioner to:
- Review a refusal of access,
- Investigate a complaint about the extension of time limits,
- Investigate a complaint about fees charged,
- Review a request by a third party who objects to the planned release of information affecting their interests, or
- Review a refusal to correct personal information.
