Access to Information and Protection of Privacy (ATIPP)
As part of the House of Assembly Records Management team, the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy (ATIPP) Coordinator is
responsible for the administration of the Newfoundland and Labrador Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPPA) as it applies to the House of Assembly.
This Act promotes openness and accountability for all government bodies, and has helped create a new culture of transparency
within our province.
The ATIPP Coordinator's duties include:
- Developing policies and procedures relating to the application and use of the ATIPPA in the House of Assembly,
- Providing leadership and advice in the interpretation of the Act,
- Responding to requests for information, and
- Providing education and training to the House of Assembly community on issues relating to the access of information and the protection of privacy.
