EXPLANATORY NOTE This Bill would amend the Provincial Offences Act to increase the late payment penalty provided for in section 32 of that Act.
A BILL AN ACT TO AMEND THE PROVINCIAL OFFENCES ACT Analysis 1. S.32(2) R&S Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: SNL1995 cP-31.1 1. Subsection 32(2) of the Provincial Offences Act is repealed and the following substituted: (2) The late payment penalty referred to in subsection (1) shall be (a) in the case of a fine which is $50 or less than $50, $6; (b) in the case of a fine which is greater than $50 and less than or equal to $100, $12; and (c) in the case of a fine which is greater than $100, $12 plus an additional late payment penalty of $12 for each increment of a $100 fine or part of a $100 up to a maximum late payment penalty of $120.
