EXPLANATORY NOTES This Bill would amend the Independent Appointments Commission Act
to confirm previously made changes in the Schedule to that Act. Further, the Bill would add a provision that the Independent Appointments Commission Act does not apply to appointments to the Legal Aid Commission under subsection 3(3) of the Legal Aid Act. |
A BILL AN ACT TO AMEND THE INDEPENDENT APPOINTMENTS COMMISSION ACT Analysis 1. Sch. Amdt. 2. Repeal Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: SNL2016 c.I-2.1 1. The Schedule to the Independent Appointments Commission Act is amended by (a) adding immediately after the entity reference "Public Service Pension Plan Corporation with respect to government appointees" the entity reference "Teachers' Pension Plan Corporation with respect to government appointees"; (b) adding the word and reference "and subsection 14(1)" after the reference "subsections 8(1) and 8(2)" in the entity reference "Regional Health Authorities Act"; and (c) adding a comma and the words and reference "except those members appointed under subsection 3(3)" after the reference "paragraph 3(2)(a)" in the entity reference "Legal Aid Act".
