This Bill would rename Red Indian Lake.

AN ACT RESPECTING THE RENAMING OF RED INDIAN LAKE

Analysis


        1.   Short title

        2.   Change of name


Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

Short title

        1. This Act may be cited as the Renaming of Red Indian Lake Act.

Change of name

        2. (1) Notwithstanding the Geographical Names Board Act, the name "Red Indian Lake" is changed to "Beothuk Lake".

             (2)  An Act, or a regulation or an order made under an Act, that contains a reference to "Red Indian Lake" is amended to refer to "Beothuk Lake".

             (3)  The validity of any proceedings, agreements, notices or documents that contain a reference to "Red Indian Lake" shall not be affected by the change of name.
