EXPLANATORY NOTES

This Bill would amend the Coat of Arms Act to amend Schedule A to:

·         update the name of the province; and

·         replace the words "Savages of the Clyme pper armed and apparaled according to their Guise when they goe to Warre" with the word "Beothuk".

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

as amended

        1. Schedule A to the Coat of Arms Act is amended by

             (a)  adding the words "AND LABRADOR" after the word "NEWFOUNDLAND"; and

             (b)  deleting the words "Savages of the Clyme pper armed and apparaled according to their Guise when they goe to Warre" and substituting the word "Beothuk".
