EXPLANATORY NOTES

This Bill would amend the Pharmacy Act, 2012 to provide that the Act does not extend to or interfere with the dispensing of necessary drugs or medicines by licensed practical nurses in the course of duty when practising with the approval and under the general supervision of a regional health authority.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

        1. Subsection 3(2) of the Pharmacy Act, 2012 is repealed and the following substituted:         

             (2)  This Act shall not extend to or interfere with the dispensing of necessary drugs or medicines by registered nurses or licensed practical nurses in the course of duty when practising with the approval and under the general supervision of a regional health authority.
