Second Reading Bill

1. -- Second Reading of a Bill -- "An Act To Amend The Hydro Corporation Act". (Bill No. 1)

MOTION

1. -- THE HONOURABLE THE MINISTER OF FINANCE AND PRESIDENT OF TREASURY BOARD -- To Move that the House Resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole on Supply to Consider Certain Resolutions for the Granting of Interim Supply to Her Majesty. (Bill No. 2)

QUESTIONS

1. -- MR. WALLY ANDERSEN (Torngat Mountains) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation to lay on the Table of the House the following information:

(a) visitation numbers for each provincial tourist site in the province for the last five years; and

(b) other statistics which are available related to tourism in the province.

2. -- MR. PERCY BARRETT (Bellevue) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Environment and Conservation to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) any reports, results of any studies, or any preliminary assessment of the material gathered, related to the possible use of agent orange or its commercial derivatives in this province; and

(b) similar information relating to the use of any other dangerous chemicals in the province.

3. -- MR. PERCY BARRETT (Bellevue) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Environment and Conservation to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) a list of identified sites in the province where environmental problems exist, which are primarily the responsibility of the Canadian Federal Government;

(b) a list of sites in the province where environmental problems exist, involving foreign governments;

(c) information relating to any assessment which has been completed regarding these environmental problems;

(d) information relating to estimates of costs involved in resolving these problems; and

(e) any correspondence relating to these issues.

4. -- MR. ROLAND BUTLER (Port de Grave) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) an assessment of the actual savings which were realized by government by the closure of HRLE offices around the province in 2003.

5. -- MR. ROLAND BUTLER (Port de Grave) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) any proposals which the province has made to the Federal Government relating to immigration policy in this province; and

(b) any correspondence relating to this matter.

6. -- MR. ROLAND BUTLER (Port de Grave) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) a detailed breakdown of the cost of the immigration policy discussion paper and public consultation process.

7. -- MS. JUDY FOOTE (Grand Bank) - To ask the Honourable the Premier to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) the detailed costs of any and all expenses incurred as a result of renovations completed at the office for the Department of Business; and

(b) a list of tenders submitted in competition for the renovations.

8. -- MS. JUDY FOOTE (Grand Bank) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) a copy or statement of any proposal for an early retirement package for fishery workers made by the Provincial Government to the Federal Government; and

(b) any correspondence relating to such a proposal.

9. -- MS. JUDY FOOTE (Grand Bank) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) any study, reports, or assessments which have been done of the Regional Economic Development Boards in this province since 2003.

10. -- MR. OLIVER LANGDON (Fortune Bay - Cape La Hune) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Municipal Affairs to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

(a) a detailed accounting of how it determined eligibility for various levels of compensation as a result of the flood in Stephenville.
