1. -- THE HONOURABLE THE MINISTER OF FINANCE AND PRESIDENT OF TREASURY BOARD -- To Move "That This House Approves in General the Budgetary Policy of the Government." (Budget Speech)

2. -- THE HONOURABLE THE MINISTER OF FINANCE AND PRESIDENT OF TREASURY BOARD -- To Move that the House Resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole on Supply to Consider a Certain Resolution Relating to the Granting of Supply to Her Majesty. (Bill No. 2)

3. -- THE HONOURABLE THE MINISTER OF FINANCE AND PRESIDENT OF TREASURY BOARD -- To Move that the House Resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole on Supply to Consider Certain Resolutions Relating to the Granting of Supplementary Supply to Her Majesty. (Bill No. 6)

4. -- THE HONOURABLE THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE LEADER -- To Move:

"WHEREAS subsection 4(1) of the Elections Act, 1991 provides that the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer be filled by resolution of the House of Assembly;

AND WHEREAS subsection 34(2) of the House of Assembly Act provides that a Commissioner of Members' Interests be appointed by the House of Assembly on the motion of the Premier following consultation with the Leader of the Official Opposition and representatives of other registered political parties having representation in the House of Assembly;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Mr. Paul Reynolds be appointed Chief Electoral Officer and Commissioner of Members' Interests."

5. -- MR. GERRY REID (Twillingate-Fogo) -- To Move:

"WHEREAS the fishery is the mainstay of the economy of rural Newfoundland and Labrador;

AND WHEREAS FPI was originally established to be the flagship of the fishing industry of this Province;

AND WHEREAS over 2,000 people in this Province look to FPI for direct employment;

AND WHEREAS the sale of the marketing and secondary processing division of FPI to a Nova Scotian company would not be in the best interest of FPI workers or the fishing industry as a whole;

AND WHEREAS the government has been unable to negotiate effectively with the Federal Government to gain control of FPI quotas, which was supposed to be a precondition to the sale of FPI or any of its assets;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this House of Assembly supports the establishment of an all party committee to explore the possibility of purchasing FPI."

6. -- MR. KELVIN PARSONS (Burgeo & LaPoile) -- To Move:

"BE IT RESOLVED that Mr. Paul Reynolds be appointed Chief Electoral Officer and Commissioner of Members' Interests only after it is verified that he meets the requirements for the appointment equivalent to a DRO under section 21 of the Elections Act."
