“WHEREAS
the present financial
assessment tool used by Government to assess homecare and home support sets up
barriers for people;
AND
WHEREAS Government's new financial assessment tool will not be in place
until December 1, 2009;
AND
WHEREAS the present system discriminates against people who need care at
home and people who receive care in institutions;
AND
WHEREAS seniors, persons living with disabilities, and those living with
chronic diseases require home care and home support, some on a daily basis,
some on short term basis and some on a sporadic basis;
BE
IT RESOLVED that the House of Assembly urge the Government of Newfoundland
and
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of Assembly urge the Government of
Newfoundland and
