QUESTIONS
42. − MR. CHRISTOPHER
MITCHELMORE (The Straits – White Bay North) – To ask the Minister of Transportation and Works to lay on
the table of this House, the following information:
(a) the department's multiyear
plan for a comprehensive, coordinated and predictable Provincial Transportation
Strategy for roads, ferries and air services and
(b) a statement of the
portion of gasoline tax revenue that is assigned to improve our roads network.
43. − MR. CHRISTOPHER MITCHELMORE (The Straits –
White Bay North) – To
ask the Minister of Finance to lay
on the table of this House, the following information:
(a) any correspondence, discussion or plan it
has to lower the small business tax rate to ensure Newfoundland and Labrador
does not lose business competitiveness - given seven other provinces have a
lower small business tax rate;
(b) the status of the proposed comprehensive
review of the rates of business tax and other costs imposed by the government,
comparing them with those of other jurisdictions and any supporting
documentation of review if one has been undertaken and
(c) any review
undertaken of the Newfoundland and Labrador Stock Savings Plan which would
determine if revisions or alternatives are required to encourage
Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to invest more in
provincial enterprises.
44. − MR. DALE KIRBY (St. John's North) – To ask the Minister of Education
to lay on the Table of the House an update on the establishment of a
scholarship that recognizes student innovators as per the 2011 PC Party Blue
Book.
