MOTIONS
1. − MR. DALE KIRBY (St. John's North) −
To Move:
“WHEREAS autism spectrum disorder has been
estimated to occur in as many as one in eighty-eight children;
AND WHEREAS individualized and intensive
early interventions are important for improving outcomes for children with
autism;
AND WHEREAS long wait lists are forcing many
parents to wait up to two years before their children receive needed pediatric
assessments and diagnostic services;
AND WHEREAS a co-ordinated,
multi-agency approach among key government departments
and agencies is needed to ensure that individuals with autism spectrum disorder
are provided with services that will promote independent living;
AND WHEREAS a comprehensive province-wide
strategy for autism spectrum disorder will decrease the lifetime costs of
treating and providing services for persons with autism;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this House of Assembly urges
the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to, in consultation with parents,
advocates, educators, health care providers and experts in the autism community
develop and implement a comprehensive Province-wide strategy for autism
spectrum disorder”.

the House of Assembly urge Government to consider
following the recommendation of their own consultant, Mr. John Noseworthy, and implement a rental rate structure for
income support clients based on regional market rates.”

QUESTIONS
45. − MR. DALE KIRBY (St. John's North) – To ask the Minister of Finance to
lay upon the Table of the House the following information:
(a) an assessment of the actual cost to
consumers of the Environmental Handling Fees (EHFs) charged on the sale and
distribution of electronic products in Newfoundland and Labrador in the years
2013, 2014, and 2015;
(b) an assessment of the actual cost to the
voluntary sector of the EHFs in the years 2013, 2014, and 2015 and
(c) the results of any assessment of the
financial impact of the introduction of EHFs on retail sales, job creation, and
business development.
46. − MR. CHRISTOPHER MITCHELMORE (The
Straits – White Bay North) – To ask the Minister of Environment and Conservation to lay
on the Table of the House:
(a) details of all energy audits conducted of government
buildings since 2011
(b) inventory of all
energy-efficient and hybrid vehicles in the government's inventory since 2011
47. − MR. CHRISTOPHER
MITCHELMORE (The Straits – White Bay North) – To ask the Minister of Environment and Conservation to lay on the Table of the
House an update on Government's pilot project of the new energy efficiency
advice service on housing and commercial buiding
designs as listed in Government's Energy Efficiency Action Plan 2011.
48. − MR.
CHRISTOPHER MITCHELMORE (The Straits – White Bay North) – To ask the
Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture to lay on the
Table of the House details of the cost-shared lobster sustainability and
rationalization program with the Federal Government, which would include the number
of licence holders (listing all species) to exit
the industry by region and total pay-out of the program.
