QUESTIONS
49. − MS. GERRY ROGERS (St. John's Centre) – To ask the Minister of Advanced
Education and Skills, and Minister Responsible for the Newfoundland and
Labrador Housing Corporation to table in the House documentation regarding the number
of seniors on the waiting list for the Rental Housing Program.
50. − MS. GERRY ROGERS (St. John's Centre) – To ask the Minister of Advanced
Education and Skills, and Minister Responsible for the Newfoundland and
Labrador Housing Corporation to inform the House if his Department will change the Rent Supplement Program to make
the supplement portable allowing seniors
to choose where to live according to their needs.
51. − MS. GERRY ROGERS (St. John's Centre) – To ask the Minister of Advanced
Education and Skills and Minister Responsible for the Newfoundland and Labrador
Housing Corporation to inform the House whether his Department will be
increasing the number of rent supplements available under the Rent Supplement
Program.
52. − MR. CHRISTOPHER MITCHELMORE (The Straits –
White Bay North) – To
ask the Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural
Development to lay on the table of the House the following information:
(1) documentation of the province's
Ocean Technology Sector Strategy, “Oceans of Opportunity” since its launch in
2010 which provides an update of progress to achieve the proposal to grow the
sector from $250 million to $1 billion by 2015;
(2) details of how Government
arrived at valuing the Ocean Technology Sector in 2010 at $250 million;
(3) documentation that identified
barriers and actions taken to provide access to capital and
(4) a listing of initiatives undertaken to pursue international markets
and the resources attached to help market products and services by Newfoundland
& Labrador Ocean Technology companies.
53. − MR. CHRISTOPHER
MITCHELMORE (The Straits – White Bay North) – To ask the Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development to lay on the table
of the House the details on when the Department plans to appoint an Assistant
Deputy Minister for Oceans to coordinate the government's activities in the
ocean technology sector in cooperation with the Research Development
Corporation (RDC) as committed in the 2011 PC Party Bluebook.

− MR. CHRISTOPHER MITCHELMORE (The Straits – White Bay North) – To ask the Minister Responsible for the Forestry and Agrifoods
Agency to lay on the table of the House the following information:
(1) an update on the suite of initiatives Government has undertaken,
which aims to attract and support new entrants in various sectors of the
agricultural industry as committed in the 2011 PC Party Bluebook and
(2) a copy of Forest Industry Competitiveness and Strategy Study.
55. − MR. DALE KIRBY (St. John's North) – To ask the Minister of Finance to lay upon the Table of the House any assessments
or studies of the impact of the elimination of the provincial road tax charged
on purchases of diesel fuel for Metrobus
Transit and Corner Brook Transit buses.
