         WHEREAS the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans, in allocating quotas for northern shrimp this year, has reduced the allocations for the inshore fleet disproportionately by adopting a “Last In, First Out” (LIFO) policy;

 

         THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Honourable House calls on the Government of Canada to eliminate the “Last In, First Out” (LIFO) policy of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and to instead distribute more equitably the northern shrimp quota allocations based on adjacency and historical dependence.”
