“WHEREAS Newfoundland and Labrador has the highest median age in Canada;

 

AND WHEREAS one in six people in our Province today are seniors, and by 2025 one in four people will be seniors;

 

AND WHEREAS access to safe, accessible, affordable housing is one of the most significant issues facing seniors;        

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Assembly urge Government to develop a comprehensive housing strategy for seniors.”
