Move that the House Resolve itself into a Committee of the
Whole to Consider a Resolution Relating to the Raising of Loans by the

HONOURABLE THE MINISTER OF NATURAL RESOURCES – To ask leave to introduce a Bill
entitled, “An Act To Amend The Hydro Corporation Act,
2007”. (Bill No. 3)

TRACEY PERRY (Fortune Bay – Cape La Hune) – To Move:
“WHEREAS the remains of a Beothuk woman
named Demasduit and her husband, a chief named Nonosabusut, have for many years been in storage in
Edinburgh at the National Museum of Scotland;
AND WHEREAS the remains of these
Aboriginal people of Newfoundland and Labrador should be repatriated to
Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and laid to rest in the place where the
Beothuk people lived;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Honourable House calls on the Government of the United
Kingdom to facilitate the repatriation of the remains of Demasduit
and Nonosabusut to Canada so that they may be laid to
rest with dignity”.
5. – MR.
REX HILLIER (Conception Bay South) – To Move:
“WHEREAS seniors in Newfoundland and
Labrador have the lowest median income amongst all Provinces;
AND
WHEREAS seniors in Newfoundland and Labrador have remained at the very
bottom in median after-tax income amongst Provinces since 2003 despite billions
in oil revenue and a poverty reduction strategy;
THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED this Honourable House urge
Government to commit to a poverty reduction strategy designed specifically to
target seniors' poverty”.
