Under the authority of section 5 of the Pedestrian Trails Liability Protection Act, I make the following regulations.

Short title

        1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pedestrian Trails Liability Protection Regulations.

Criteria for designation

        2. A trail may be designated as a trail to which the Act applies where

             (a)  the trail, on Crown land or privately owned land, or both, has been established by a recognized person or group and is marked reasonably clearly as a trail for recreational hiking; and

             (b)  the trail complies with all standards set by the minister with respect to

                      (i)  ownership,

                     (ii)  insurance,

                    (iii)  signage,

                    (iv)  inspections, and

                     (v)  maintenance.
