Town of Arnold 's Cove Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Arnold's Cove Order .

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Arnold 's Cove are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 674/78 and 43/90 are repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at the westernmost extremity of Whiffen Head, Placentia Bay, and running in a northeasterly direction to and 100 metres along a line perpendicular to the centre line of the Trans Canada Highway at a point 380 metres, more or less, north of the Arnold's Cove Access Road;

Then in a southerly direction via the centre line of the highway to a point east of the northern extremity of Jacks Pond Provincial Park (gazetted August 2, 1985 );

Then in a southwesterly direction to and along the park boundary (the northwesterly limit of the reservation 10 metres wide extending along the northwesterly bank of a stream, then south 45° east 2 metres to the centre line of the Cabot Highway, now abandoned, then south 36° 54' 50" west 299.96 metres, then south 56° 18' 52" west 557.92 metres, then south 56° 00' 00" west 30.0 metres) to the eastern shoreline of Great Southern Harbour on the southern side of a sand bar south of Big Pond;

Then in a northwesterly direction along the southern edge of the sand bar across to the highwater mark on the western shoreline of Great Southern Harbour;

Then along the sinuosities of the shoreline at the highwater mark passing Arnold 's Cove, Adams Head to Whiffen Head, the point of beginning.

All bearings refer to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500, 1985 Crown Lands and Surveys Division Mapping.
