CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 808/96

Arnold 's Cove Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96-173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Arnold 's Cove Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at the westernmost extremity of Whiffen Head, Placentia Bay, and running in a northeasterly direction to and 100 metres along a line perpendicular to the centre line of the Trans Canada Highway, Route 1, at a point 380 metres, more or less, north of the Arnold's Cove Access Road;

Then in a northerly direction via the centre line of the highway to a point, that point having co-ordinates north 5 300 196 metres and east 232 838 metres;

Then due east a distance of 466 metres, more or less, to the southeastern extremity of an unnamed pond;

Then south 57° 15' east a distance of 7,475 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the northernmost extremity of an unnamed pond;

Then south 3° 30' east a distance of 1,775 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the northern extremity of an unnamed pond which flows into Stock Cove;

Then south 47° 00' west a distance of 2,000 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the southern extremity of an unnamed pond;

Then south 85° 00' west a distance of 2,950 metres, more or less, to a point on the centre line of Route 1 where an unnamed stream crosses Route 1 and flows into Jack's Pond;

Then in a northerly direction via the centre line of Route 1 to a point east of the northern extremity of Jack's Pond Provincial Park ;

Then in a southwesterly direction to and along the park boundary to the eastern shoreline of Great Southern Harbour on the southern side of a sand bar south of Big Pond;

Then in a northwesterly direction along the southern edge of the sand bar across to the highwater mark on the western shoreline of Great Southern Harbour;

Then along the sinuosities of the shoreline at the highwater mark passing Arnold 's Cove, Adams Head to Whiffen Head, the point of beginning.

All bearings refer to grid north and, as with distances given, are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500, 1985 Crown Lands and Surveys Division Mapping and 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping.
