Irishtown - Summerside Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act

Under the authority of subsection 11(1) of theUrban and Rural Planning Act, I define the following area as the Irishtown - Summerside Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at a point, the centre point of the bridge on Route 440 spanning Hughes Brook and having UTM co-ordinates north 5,427,475 metres and east 434,550 metres;

Then in a northeasterly direction along the centre thread of Hughes Brook 1,150 metres, more or less, to a point at UTM co-ordinates north 5,427,900 metres and east 435,350 metres;

Then west 2,100 metres, more or less, to the summit of an unnamed hill at UTM co-ordinates north 5,427,900 metres and east 433,250 metres;

Then north 17° 00 west, a distance of 550 metres, more or less, to the summit of an unnamed hill at UTM co-ordinates north 5,428,450 metres and east 433,050 metres;

Then north 43° 15 west, a distance of 750 metres, more or less, to the summit of an unnamed hill at UTM north 5,428,950 metres and east 432,550 metres;

Then north 29° 30 east, a distance of 2,200 metres, more or less, to the summit of an unnamed hill at UTM co-ordinates north 5,430,875 metres and east 438,625 m and spot 397 metres elevation;

Then south 87° 45 west, a distance of 3,625 metres, more or less, to the summit of an unnamed hill at UTM co-ordinates north 5,430,725 metres and east 430,000 metres;

Then south 53° 00 west, a distance of 6,000 metres, more or less, to the northwest extremity of the Irishtown-Summerside Municipal Boundary;

Then south 17° 00 west, a distance of 600 metres, more or less, to a point on the centre line of Route 440, that point being 275 metres, more or less, to the west of the bridge over a stream which flows into Gum Cove;

Then continuing on the bearing an additional 300 metres, more or less, to the high water mark on the shoreline of the Humber Arm;

Then following the sinuosities of the shoreline of the Humber Arm in a generally easterly and northeasterly direction to the point where Hughes Brook flows into the Humber Arm;

Then in a northeasterly direction along the centre thread of Hughes Brook to the first mentioned bridge on Route 440, the point of beginning.

All bearings refer to grid north and, as with distances and co-ordinates given, are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping.

The Irishtown Municipal Planning Area , Consolidated Newfoundland Regulation 866/96, is repealed.
