EXPLANATORY NOTE This Bill would amend the Automobile Insurance Act to authorize the Lieutenant-Governor in Council to appoint a consumer advocate for the purpose of a matter before the board under the Act.
A BILL AN ACT TO AMEND THE AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE ACT Analysis 1. S.61 Added Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: RSNL1990 cA-22 1. The Automobile Insurance Act is amended by adding immediately after section 60 the following: Consumer advocate 61. (1) The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may appoint, upon the terms and conditions the Lieutenant-Governor in Council may determine, a consumer advocate for the purpose of a matter before the board under this Act. (2) The costs relating to the consumer advocate shall be borne by the board.
