AN ACT RESPECTING THE ATTAINMENT OF THE AGE OF MAJORITY

(Assented to December 21, 1995)

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:


Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Age of Majority Act.

Attainment of majority

2. Every person who attains the age of 19 years

(a) attains the age of majority; and

(b) ceases to be a minor person.

Time of attainment

3. (1) The time at which a person attains a particular age expressed in years shall be the commencement of a relevant anniversary of that person's birth.

(2) The relevant anniversary of a person born on February 29 is the last day of the month of February.
