Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Exhibition of Advertisements Act.

Advertisement control

2. For all places within a radius of 8 kilometres from the court house in St. John's, the St. John's Municipal Council, and for all other places in the province, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council may make regulations

(a) for the regulation and control of boardings and similar structures used for the purpose of advertising; and

(b) for regulating, restricting or preventing the exhibition of advertisements in all places, and particularly in places and in a manner, or by means, as to injuriously affect the amenities of a public park or pleasure or recreation ground or to disfigure the natural beauty of a landscape.

Publication of rules

3. Regulations under section 2 shall be published in the Gazette and in a newspaper published in the province.

Penalty

4. A person who contravenes or fails to comply with a regulation made under this Act is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $100 and to a further penalty not exceeding $2 for every day during which the offence is continued after conviction for that offence.
