Individuals elected in each General Election must sign an oath of office and an oath of allegiance prior to claiming their seat in the House. During a swearing-in ceremony, Members have also signed a ceremonial document called the Roll of Members. The Roll of Members is a large, hand-lettered document on which is inscribed the name of each electoral district in the province. It also includes the names of Members elected as the result of any by-elections held during a given Assembly. The original Roll of Members for the current General Assembly hangs in the precinct of the House; the signed oaths for current Members are available on each Member's webpage.
Facsimile rolls from 1832 to present, as well as many signed originals, are reproduced here for easy reference. Images of signed Rolls from 1848 to 1928 have been provided courtesy of The Rooms; a complete set of pre-Confederation Rolls is not available.
