Jim is a born and bred resident of St. John's, NL. He and his wife, Michelle, are proud parents of three adult children and two beautiful grandchildren. Jim taught 32 years in small rural and large urban schools and served as President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers Association as well as on the executive council and board of directors of the Canadian Teachers' Federation. Jim was first elected to the House of Assembly on May 16, 2019. Jim maintains a strong commitment to social justice, education, and the environment.
