History of the Standings in the 50th General Assembly

After the General Election of February 13, 2021 there were 22 Liberal Members, 13 Progressive Conservative Members, 2 New Democratic Members, and 3 independent returned to the House of Assembly.

Members were officially sworn or affirmed into office on April 12, 2021.

On October 25, 2021, it was announced MHA Lela Evans would sit as an Independent/Non-Affiliated Member.

On March 7, 2022, it was announced MHA Lela Evans would sit as a New Democratic Member.

On September 12, 2022, it was announced MHA Perry Trimper would sit as a Liberal Member.

On December 29, 2023, MHA David Brazil resigned his seat in the district of Conception Bay East - Bell Island.

On December 30, 2023, a by-election was called for January 29, 2024 in the district of Conception Bay East - Bell Island. Due to inclement weather on January 29th, polling was postponed to January 30, 2024. Fred Hutton was declared the successful candidate. He was affirmed into office on February 21, 2024.

On January 22, 2024, the Member for the district of Fogo Island - Cape Freels, Derrick Bragg, passed away.

On March 1, 2024, MHA Brian Warr resigned his seat in the district of Baie Verte – Green Bay.

On March 17, 2024, a by-election was called for April 15, 2024 in the district of Fogo Island - Cape Freels. Jim McKenna was declared the successful candidate.
